Virtual Tastes of Global Travel, Food History, and Eccentric Eating. Oh my!
Welcome to the Veg Around The World newsletter by me, Piper Martz!
Iβm an avid globe trekker, super foodie, vegan-y vegetarian, and storyteller. I share virtual tastes of global travel, nerdy food history, and eccentric eating not only in this newsletter (which you should subscribe to!) but also on social media.
Iβm also writing a book about my two-year journey (literally) eating my way around the world and studying how foreign food cultures are redefining modern national identity. This trip included:
Eating life-changing Chinese food in 14 different countries, including Morrocco, Costa Rica, India, Singapore, Tanzania, and Australia.
Driving a three-wheeled tuk-tuk over 3,000 kilometers from North to South India for a charity race and dining unknowingly with a Maharaja.
Meeting an epicurean traveler in Tanzania and falling in love through emergency rooms around the world while navigating his unknown but life-threatening food allergy. (Hint hint- it only took 7 months and 6 near-death experiences to figure it out!)
Finding most remarkable immigrant food dinner party hidden inside a historic bank vault in South Africa, exploring each major wave of migration to Johannesburg with a delectable course.
In the meantime, letβs be friends on Instagram & in your inbox!
